What I do
AI & Agent Production Audit
AI-assisted builds look convincing. They're not always solid. Before you go live with a system handling sensitive data, real users, or business-critical workflows - find out what you actually have. I review architecture, security, data handling, authentication, integration points, and load behaviour. You get a clear verdict: what's ready, what isn't, and what to fix before you ship.
I've run production-readiness audits under GS007 financial assurance standards at Dexus (ASX-listed, ~$50B+ in assets) and data integrity investigations for agriculture SaaS platforms. Most recently, short-engagement go-live audits for AI-assisted codebases.
AI Adoption & Automation
Most teams know they should be using AI. Most don't know where to start, what's worth building, or how to do it without making a mess. I come in, map where AI can genuinely help - in your codebase, your workflows, or your product - then build it or set it up. And if your dev team needs to work with AI tools properly, I handle that too.
Built AI-driven workflow automation and an intelligent assistant into a SaaS product - prompt design, LLM integration, context-aware suggestions, and agent infrastructure. Also set up structured AI development workflows for engineering teams using Claude Code and agent orchestration patterns.
System Diagnostic & Remediation
Something's wrong and nobody can pin it down. Data going missing. Events misfiring. Performance degrading in ways nobody can explain. I come in, go through the logs, trace the failure patterns, and find it. Some issues I fix directly; others I document precisely for your team. Either way, you stop guessing.
Diagnosed and resolved a critical data integrity crisis for an agriculture SaaS platform - DynamoDB inconsistencies, cross-application conflicts, lost records. Investigated via logs, implemented optimistic locking, fixed GraphQL mutations, built Python reconciliation scripts.
Technical Due Diligence
Before you write the cheque. Architecture, code quality, security posture, technical debt, team capability, infrastructure - everything an investor or acquirer needs to know before committing. Written for both technical readers and the people making the investment decision.
Technical audit and compliance assessment at Dexus (ASX-listed, ~$50B+ in assets) - governed under GS007 financial assurance standards. Full architecture, code, and operational risk review.
I'm Mike Nash - a senior engineer with over a decade in production systems. I go into codebases - AI-assisted builds, inherited vendor work, live systems with unexplained failures - find what's wrong, and tell you exactly what to do about it. Written report. Fixed scope.

Businesses call me when they've got a technical problem nobody can agree on how to fix.
You've received a build from an external team and need to know if it's solid before it goes live
Something's broken and nobody can agree where it started or what's actually causing it
You've just inherited a codebase and need a clear picture before you make any real decisions
You're about to raise investment and need an independent technical assessment
You're a founder or exec who needs someone to tell them the truth, not manage them
You want someone who's seen enough real production systems to know what actually matters
Mike's audit gave us a clear, prioritised list of what was actually broken before we went live - not a vague risk report. Exactly the independent read we needed.
Mike led a squad of four through a complex inherited microservice architecture and made it look straightforward. He picks up new technologies fast, builds relationships across teams and customers without effort, and delivers with real professionalism.
