Who I am
This website is run by Nash Software Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14010294). I am the controller of the personal data described here. To ask a question about your data or to use any of your rights, email mike@nashsoftware.dev.
What I collect and why
I only collect what you give me through the forms on this site, plus the analytics described below.
Contact form
- What:
- Your name, email address, the service you are interested in, and your message.
- Why:
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to prepare a proposal.
- Lawful basis:
- Legitimate interests (answering enquiries), or taking steps at your request before a contract.
Waitlist forms
- What:
- Your email address and the product you asked to hear about.
- Why:
- To tell you when that product launches.
- Lawful basis:
- Your consent.
Page-view analytics (Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights)
- What:
- Page views, referrer, and device, browser and country information. These tools are designed to work without cookies.
- Why:
- To see which pages are used and how fast they load.
- Lawful basis:
- Legitimate interests (running and improving the site).
Session recording (Microsoft Clarity)
- What:
- How you move around and interact with pages, recorded as sessions and heatmaps. Clarity sets cookies and similar identifiers.
- Why:
- To understand where visitors get stuck and improve the site.
- Lawful basis:
- Your consent. Clarity does not load unless you accept it on the cookie banner.
Forms are protected against abuse with a hidden field and a short-lived limit on how many messages one network address can send. That limit is held in the site's memory, is not attached to your enquiry, and is not used for anything else. If we work together, the material you share and the engagement itself are covered by the engagement terms we agree.
Who receives your data
- Resend, the email delivery service that passes contact and waitlist form submissions to my inbox.
- Vercel, which hosts the site and provides the page-view analytics and speed measurement.
- Microsoft, which provides Clarity, only if you accept it.
I do not sell your data and I do not use it for advertising.
Transfers outside the UK
The providers above operate internationally, so your data may be handled outside the UK. UK data protection law requires safeguards when that happens, and you can ask me about them using the email address above.
How long I keep it
I keep enquiries only as long as I need them to respond and for my records. Waitlist addresses are kept until you ask to be removed or the product is dropped. Analytics data is kept according to the providers' own settings.
Cookies and similar technologies
Microsoft Clarity is the only part of this site that sets cookies, and only if you accept it. The cookie policy explains what is set and how to change your choice at any time.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data, or restrict how I use it;
- stop using your data where I rely on legitimate interests;
- give you your data in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect what was done before you withdrew it.
