What I do
End-to-end technical capability. From architecture decisions to shipped code — and the leadership to make it stick.
Book a callFractional CTO
Senior technical leadership without the full-time overhead. I work with your team to set technical direction, make architecture decisions, hire and grow engineers, and build the systems that let you scale. You get a CTO who actually writes code and understands what your team is dealing with.
Good fit for
- →Startups needing technical leadership before hiring a full-time CTO
- →Scale-ups where the founding technical team needs a senior partner
- →Companies at a crossroads - platform rewrite, cloud migration, or spinning up a new product line
- →Businesses where the CTO has moved into a business role and the technical side needs someone hands-on
Recent engagement: Led an early-stage SaaS startup from zero to pre-seed - architecture, stack decisions, MVP build, engineering culture - as sole technical leader. Also rescued a stalled .NET migration at Lancom Technology - 6 months overdue, back to billable within a month.
Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute conversation to understand where you are. For complex situations, I offer a paid discovery session (£500) - a conversation followed by a written assessment of the landscape, delivered within 1-2 working days.
Start a conversationRapid Build
Hands-on development for when you need something built fast, built properly, and built by someone senior enough to make the right call under pressure. No handoffs, no ticket queues, no juniors learning on your dime.
How it works
Discovery call
I'll talk through what you need, the constraints, the timeline, and whether I'm the right fit.
Scope & proposal
I'll propose an approach, timeline, and rate. If it's a fixed-price project, I'll define the scope clearly.
Build
I start work. You get regular updates, working software, and direct access to me throughout.
Handover
Clean code, documentation, and a handover session so your team can own and maintain what I've built.
| Type | Timeline | From |
|---|---|---|
| Websites | 1-2 weeks | From £2,500 |
| Web applications | 2-4 weeks | From £5,000 |
| Automations (n8n, AI workflows) | 1-2 weeks | From £1,500 |
| MVP / Product builds | Scoped per project | From £10,000 |
Websites and simple automations start with a free 30-minute call. Web apps and complex automations benefit from a paid discovery session (£500). MVP and product builds start with a full product discovery (£2,000) - multiple workshops plus a complete architectural specification. Both discovery tiers are credited against the project cost if we proceed.
Book a callRecent build: Architected a state-wide government debt management platform via NTT (Fortune 500) - sole delivery lead, designed the full system including custom Azure B2C auth and just-in-time user migration, deployed to production serving millions of citizens.
AI & Automation
Practical AI integration that solves real business problems - not demos, not experiments, not prompts wrapped in a UI. I design and build LLM-powered workflows, internal tools, and automation pipelines that actually get used.
Good fit for
- →Businesses with repetitive manual processes that could be automated
- →Teams looking to integrate LLMs into their existing product or internal tooling
- →Founders who want to move faster using AI-assisted delivery pipelines
- →Companies needing custom AI workflows beyond what off-the-shelf tools can do
Discuss your use caseI use the same AI tooling on my own work - I've built full delivery pipelines and development workflows using Claude, n8n, and custom agents. What I sell, I run myself.
Technical Audits & Due Diligence
An honest assessment of your technology - whether you're investing, acquiring, or just need someone to tell you the truth about your codebase.
Code Quality Audit
From £1,500A focused review of your codebase - patterns, test coverage, dependency health, security surface, maintainability. You get a written report with specific findings and prioritised recommendations.
Good for
- →Founders who suspect technical debt is slowing them down
- →CTOs who inherited a codebase and need an outside opinion
- →Teams preparing for a big hire or a round
Written report, typically within 5 working days.
Architecture Review
From £2,500A deeper assessment of your system architecture - how services communicate, where the single points of failure are, whether the infrastructure matches the growth trajectory. Includes recommendations for what to fix, what to leave, and what to watch.
Good for
- →Companies scaling fast and unsure if their architecture will hold
- →Teams about to start a major rebuild or migration
- →Businesses whose cloud costs are growing faster than revenue
Written report with architecture diagrams, typically within 7 working days.
Technical Due Diligence
From £5,000A comprehensive technical assessment for investors, acquirers, or founders raising a round. Covers codebase, architecture, infrastructure, team capability, security posture, and technical risk. Written for both technical readers and the people making the investment decision.
Good for
- →Investors evaluating a target
- →Founders preparing for due diligence
- →Companies being acquired who want their own independent assessment
Full written report, typically within 5-7 working days.
I've run technical audits for clients including Dexus (ASX-listed, ~$50B+ in assets) - compliance-governed under GS007 financial assurance standards.
Code quality audits can usually be scoped from a short conversation. Architecture reviews and full due diligence typically benefit from a paid discovery session (£500) to define the assessment scope. Final price depends on codebase size and system complexity.
